Two powerhouse performers — both returning after sold-out shows in the Palladium’s Side Door — join forces for a very special double-bill on the Hough Concert Hall mainstage.

Allyson Briggs, “The Glamour Girl of Jazz,” brings her signature Old Hollywood sparkle and timeless swing to the stage, performing classics from the Golden Age of Entertainment. Joining her are Dominic Walker, guitar; Simon Lasky, piano; Alejandro Arenas, bass; Mark DeRose; drums. Allyson is thrilled to be collaborating with Florida’s finest local jazz musicians to bring the music of the Golden Age to life for you!

Sharing the bill is Grammy-nominated pianist and vocalist Judy Carmichael, one of the world’s leading interpreters of stride and swing, joined by acclaimed guitarist Nate Najar.

It’s a rare evening of world-class artistry, wit, and vintage charm — an unforgettable celebration of jazz past and present. Not to be missed. And be sure to dress to impress, since Allyson is known for bringing the Old Hollywood Glamour with her to the stage.

Allyson Briggs

Allyson Briggs has earned a reputation as “The Glamour Girl of Jazz.” Since her explosion onto the New York jazz scene over a decade ago, she has become one of the most sought-after vocalists today. With hundreds of public concerts and private events per year, she leads her own retro jazz band, Fleur Seule, with effortless fun and fashion to match. In New York City, she has held an 11-year residency at the famed Tavern on the Green in Central Park, as well as an 11-year residency at nightlife celebrity haunt, Bathtub Gin Speakeasy. She has received critical acclaim from Playbill, The New York Sun, The Syncopated Times, and Broadwayworld, who writes, “Briggs’ vocal instrument is beautiful beyond compare.”

From Carnegie Hall to Jazz at Lincoln Center, Allyson has ignited a fresh wave of classic music that transports audiences to the Golden Age of Entertainment. Judy Carmichael

Grammy-nominated pianist (and vocalist/radio host/humorist) Judy Carmichael is one of the world’s leading interpreters of stride piano and swing. Count Basie nicknamed her “Stride,” acknowledging the command with which she plays this technically and physically demanding jazz piano style. Judy has been featured on A Prairie Home Companion, NPR’s Morning Edition, Entertainment Tonight, CBS’ Sunday Morning, CNN’s Business Unusual, Mornings With Margaret Throsby for the Australia Broadcast Corporation, Jo Soares in Brazil and the BBC’s Loose Ends, In Tune, Up All Night, Woman’s Hour and numerous other shows. She created, produces and hosts, Judy Carmichael’s Jazz Inspired, on podcast platforms and is celebrating its 25th year on NPR stations across the country.
